North Country This Week
POTSDAM — The village plans to apply for a $127,500 state grant to repair the windows in the Village of Potsdam Public Museum.
At their meeting June 21, the village board authorized submitting an application for the funding from the state’s Historic Preservation Program, which is administered by the state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
The museum, part of the civic center, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The funding will be for the repair of the existing windows in the building. The grant would require the village to fork over a 25 percent match, or $42,000 for the work.
The board also passed a resolution which classified the window rehab project as an “unlisted action” under the State Environmental Quality Review Act and that the repair would have no adverse impacts on the museum.
