CANTON -- The village of Canton has approved four part-time employees to work at the Canton Pavilion during ice season.
The Pavilion has reopened on a preliminary basis to Canton hockey and figure skating clubs.
The employees will back-up volunteers with sanitizing and general clean-up duties when the rink is open. They will also help out skaters when needed and help with ice maintenance.
Approved for hiring were Mia Mousaw, Aaron Branda, Zack Frank and Paige Glasgow.
"They are all very enthusiastic," said Village Trustee Carol Pynchon at the village board meeting Oct. 19. "They have gotten good marks as lifeguards in the past."
The part-timers are approved to work up to 20 hours per week at $12 per hour.
