HERMON — Two people were both sent to the hospital after the motorcycle they were riding struck a mailbox on East DeKalb Road on June 25 around 10 p.m.
State Police said Darren J. Caldwell, 39, of Norfolk and his passenger were traveling westbound on a motorcycle on East DeKalb Road when he failed to negotiate a right turn, exited the road, and hit a mailbox.
Both Caldwell and his passenger were ejected from the motorcycle.
Caldwell was taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for treatment and his passenger was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital.
The investigation is ongoing, State Police said.
