CANTON — Two Massena residents have been charged with drug possession in the Village of Canton, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Sonia M. Garrow, 40, and Thomas I. Borsellino, 34, were both charged following the investigation of a traffic stop on Main St., police say.
Both were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (B Felony) and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (A Misdemeanor), officials say.
Police say Sheriff’s Office K-9 Shelly alerted police to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, at which point deputies found 69 bags of cocaine packaged for sale, along with 20 packets of Fentanyl.
Both Garrow and Borsellino were both arraigned in Hermon Town Court.
Borsellino was remanded to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility.
Garrow was released under her own recognizance and is set to appear in Canton Town Court on a later date.
Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted by Canton Village Police and New York State Police.
