OSWEGATCHIE – Two people were injured Friday after a motorist fell asleep and crashed into an oncoming vehicle, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies said Samantha E. Weaver, 18, of 157 Wardell Rd., Heveulton, fell asleep while driving a 2001 Buick east on Horseshoe Road and collided with an oncoming vehicle driven by Jonathan H. Kingsley, 17, of 2659 NYS Hwy. 184, Heuvelton.
Weaver and Deborah S. Kingsley, 53, a passenger in the rear of the Kinsley vehicle, were both transported to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg, by the Ogdensburg Rescue Squad after complaining of pain. Taylor M. Bunch, 15, was a third passenger in the Kingsley vehicle.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Rishe’s Automotive, Ogdensburg.
Weaver was ticketed for failure to keep right and to appear in Oswegatchie Town Court on Sept. 1, deputies said.
