CANTON – Taylor Park Beach will open for the season on Saturday, June 10, for weekend and holiday use only until June 25.
Beach hours on Saturday and Sunday will be noon to 7 p.m. Swimming is prohibited when lifeguards are not on duty. From June 26 to Sept. 4, the beach will be open daily from noon to 7 p.m.
Taylor Park is located just outside the village on the Miner Street Road.
The park offers other amenities including a picnic shelter, picnic tables, grills, half-court basketball, sand volleyball court, a ball field, bathhouse and an ADA kayak/canoe launch. Kayak rentals are available during beach hours for $5 per hour with a two-hour minimum.
Beach goers will see a new lifeguard shed built and donated by Canton Deputy Town Supervisor Jim Smith. The old shed will now be used for kayak storage.
