CANTON -- SUNY Canton is seeking nominations for its annual College Council Distinguished Citizen Award, to be presented at commencement in May.
The college bestows the award in recognition of exceptional, unusual, and distinguished service to SUNY Canton, to the community, to the state, or to the nation. The award was first given in 1976.
Members of the community are invited to submit written nominations for the award, with the person’s name, position or title, and a description and a brief biography. At least three letters of support from non-family members should accompany the nomination. Nominations, which are due Feb. 1, should be sent to Ronald O’Neill, College Council Chairman, SUNY Canton, 34 Cornell Drive - FOB 616, Canton, NY, 13617.
The council will make its choice at its March 29 meeting.
The recipient’s name will be displayed on plaque in the Miller Campus Center.
