Stefanik seeking re-election to congressional seat, but faces challenge for Republican nod

North Country Rep. Elise Stefanik’s will be running for re-election in 2024 and will face a challenge from Jill Lochner of Greenfield Center.

Lochner of Greenfield Center announced in March her candidacy for the Republican nomination in the 21st District, setting up a primary race.

“Our country is unrecognizable from when I first stepped into the arena to run for Congress. The fight to save our country and our state will not be easy but I have never been more determined to work my hardest to save America. I am grateful for the hundreds of thousands of grassroots supporters in Upstate New York and across the country. We will work our hardest to defeat the Democrats across New York and the country, to protect and expand our House Majority and elect President Trump in 2024.”

Stefanik has received unanimous support from NY-21 GOP Chairs, NY-21 Conservative Party Chairs, the New York Republican State Committee, and the New York Conservative Party.

Stefanik received accolades from both the St. Lawrence County Republican Party and Conservative Party.

"I am proud to once again support Congresswoman Stefanik for her re-election this cycle. Elise is a true warrior and fighter for St. Lawrence County, always bringing the concerns of our citizens to the highest level of government. Moreover, Congresswoman Stefanik has consistently had a campaign office and staff here, which has helped grow our candidates and flipped St. Lawrence County to bright red! We couldn't be more thrilled to have one of her District Offices now in the City of Ogdensburg as well,” said County Republican Chair Connie Elen.

“St. Lawrence County Conservatives could not prouder to be represented by Elise Stefanik in Congress and for her to be both the most powerful woman in Congress as well as the most senior elected official supporting President Trump's campaign. The North Country benefits immensely from Elise’s position in House leadership. No one works harder than Elise to fight for our conservative values and I fully endorse Elise, and will work tirelessly to ensure she continues to win her election in a landslide,” stated North Country Regional Vice-Chair of the Conservative Party and County Conservative Chair Hank Ford.

Matt Castelli, the Democratic challenger to U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-Schuylerville, last year, will not run again in 2024.
