CANTON -- Due to public interest, the county intends to hold the continuation of a public hearing to give the public the opportunity to comment on St. Lawrence County’s draft Coordinated Transportation Plan.
The public hearing will begin at a Public Transit Task Force meeting on Thursday, March 21 at 1 p.m. in the banquet room of the Best Western.
The public hearing will continue during evening hours on Monday, March 25 at 7 p.m. in the courtroom of the Canton municipal building.
Staff from the county planning office, and the county’s mobility manager will provide an overview of the Transportation Plan. The plan includes background information about the County, its current bus system, known transportation gaps, and goals and actions to improve public transit in St. Lawrence County.
As of March 14, a digital copy of the draft Coordinated Transportation Plan is available on the County’s public transit website at www.slcnypublictransit.com/news.
Hard copies of the draft plan are also available for review during normal business hours at the St. Lawrence County Planning Office; the transportation office of The Arc of Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties; and at Volunteer Transportation Center’s Canton office.
The Canton Municipal Building is accessible to persons with physical disabilities by entering the building from Miner Street.
Those who are unable to attend the public hearing can email their comments to: mlarson@stlawco.org.
Comments will be accepted until Friday, March 29.
