CANTON — The St. Lawrence Choral Society, formerly known as University Chorus, is sending out the call for new members to join its organization.

The Society is a community choir in residence at St. Lawrence University in Canton.

Membership is open to residents of the North Country as well as faculty, staff, and students of the university.

Under the direction of St. Lawrence University's new Director of Choral Activities Dr. Jason Bishop, the St. Lawrence Choral Society is now welcoming members for its 2023-2024 season.

The chorus will rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. in Griffiths Arts Center 15 at St. Lawrence University, beginning Aug. 29.

The St. Lawrence Choral Society performs 3-4 times per year, both on the St. Lawrence campus as well as at other locations in the region.

Programs feature a wide variety of accompanied and unaccompanied repertoire, along with celebrated works for chorus and orchestra.

Those interested in joining or continuing with the St. Lawrence Choral Society are asked to complete and submit the form below.

The only requirements for membership are the ability to match pitch, a commitment to attending rehearsals consistently, and a love for making music with others. Inexperienced singers are welcome.
