Snow, freezing drizzle, rain, high winds expected today in St. Lawrence County
Snow will overspread the region this morning and will result in a messy morning commute, especially across the St. Lawrence Valley, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
As temperatures warm the snow will mix with rain before tapering off to areas of drizzle and patchy freezing drizzle late this afternoon and evening, forecasters predict. The high today will be around 40 with winds 20 to 25 miles per hour this afternoon and wind gusts 40 to 45 miles per hour possible, the service says.
A brief period of sleet or freezing rain will be possible during the transition to rain, NWS says. Slick travel will be possible, especially on untreated secondary roads.
