Expected slippery road conditions caused by snow and ice have led the National Weather Service to issue a winter weather advisory for St. Lawrence County.
The advisory, for the areas around South Colton, Star Lake, Ogdensburg, Potsdam, and Gouverneur, will be in place until 7 p.m. Friday.
Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 6 inches and localized ice accumulations of a light glaze to one tenth of an inch.
Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact this evening`s and Friday morning`s commute, the National Weather Service said.
Rain is expected overnight before becoming accumulating snow on Friday morning.
Drivers are advised to slow down and use caution while traveling and allow extra time if travel is necessary.
