POTSDAM — High school students (grades 9-12) are invited to submit a virtual audition for the inaugural High School Theatre Showcase presented by SLC Arts and the SUNY Potsdam LoKo Arts Festival.
Accepted students will have the opportunity to work with SUNY Potsdam faculty and students from both the Department of Theatre and Dance and the Crane School of Music to develop their performance through a masterclass on campus before a final showcase in the Black Box theatre.
Virtual auditions must be submitted by April 9 at through the Google Form application here.
Students must be able to travel to the SUNY Potsdam campus for a masterclass on Sunday, April 30 and the final showcase performance on Sunday, May 7.
Acting auditions should include cuts of two contrasting monologues, and musical theatre auditions should include cuts of two contrasting songs. Each video should not exceed 10 minutes. If selected, the student will workshop and perform one of the two pieces as selected by the audition panel.
The final number of selected students will be determined by the panel during the audition process. Auditioning does not guarantee a spot in the final showcase. Students are welcome to audition for both categories but will only be selected for one if chosen to participate in the showcase.
