GOUVERNEUR — A “Save our Second Amendment” rally is being held Saturday, Oct. 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Gouverneur village park.
The rally will feature National Rifle Association endorsed candidates, including Rep. Stefanik, New York State Senate candidate Mark Walczyk and New York State Assembly candidate Scott Gray.
New York State Rifle and Pistol Association Executive Director Tom King will also be in attendance.
The rally comes on the heels of a Federal judge issuing a temporary restraining order against six provisions of the Concealed Carry Improvement Act which was passed earlier this summer in an “extraordinary session” by New York State legislators.
The ongoing lawsuit, Antonyuk v. Bruen, is expected to continue in court later this month and could set the tone for future legal challenges to new gun control laws passed in the wake of the Supreme Court expanding gun rights with NYSRPA v. Bruen in June.
