Congressman Bill Owens (D-Plattsburgh) has postponed a visit to the United Helpers’ Maplewood Campus in Canton scheduled for earlier this afternoon, due to a longer-than-expected tour of the flood-damaged areas of the state this morning.
He will reschedule the visit for another as-yet unspecified time.
He does expect to still visit the soon-to-reopen North Lawrence yogurt plant at 22 County Route 52 at 2:45 p.m.
He will tour the facility and discuss the plant’s plans to resume production.
The plant is expected to resume yogurt production as soon as next month, according to the plant’s new ownership.
