Public Health says 21 new cases of COVID-19 in St. Lawrence County since Tuesday

St. Lawrence County Public Health is reporting that there have been 21 confirmed new cases of COVID-19 reported between Tuesday, July 20 and Thursday, July 22.

The new cases bring the total number of confirmed cases recorded in the county since the start of the pandemic to 7,601.

Twenty-four cases are currently active, reports Public Health.

Seven thousand four hundred eighty cases have been released from isolation since the pandemic began.

One case is currently hospitalized.

Public Health reports that 344,826 COVID-19 tests have been performed since the start of the pandemic as of July 21. This testing data comes from the New York State Department of Health and was last updated on July 22 before 2 p.m.

Testing is being done through both St. Lawrence Health Systems and Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. Testing is by appointment only. Call the hotline numbers below between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. if you have symptoms, you are an essential worker or feel you should be tested:

St. Lawrence County Public Health, 80 State Highway 310, Canton, will hold vaccination clinics on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27 and Wednesday, July 28.

Starting in August, St. Lawrence Public Health will hold vaccination clinics every Monday and Wednesday by appointment. Call Public Health at 315-386-3452 to make an appointment.

Vaccinations are also available at local pharmacies.
