POTSDAM — The village board has passed several resolutions toward downtown revitalization efforts off Raymond and Depot streets.
At their meeting April 5 the board authorized Village Administrator Greg Thompson to negotiate the terms to transfer land owned by the village in return for a transfer of land owned by Market Square Mall, LLC to allow development of a new roadway and a pedestrian trail near the mall.
The board also authorized submitting an application for grant funding from the Northern Border Regional Commission to develop and construct a new village owned roadway, sidewalks and sub-surface infrastructure between existing roadways on Raymond and Depot streets.
According to the resolution passed by the village on April 5, the municipality would commit at least 20 percent of total project costs as a local match toward the grant.
The board also authorized the application for grant funding through the River Valley Redevelopment Agency for the project. The resolution authorizes the payment of a $100 application fee from the village’s miscellaneous revenue account.
Both resolutions direct the mayor or in his absence, the deputy mayor, to execute the grant applications and any resulting grant agreements.
