POTSDAM -- A Potsdam man has been charged following a stolen boat investigation, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies.
Michael S. Luca, 40, was charged with third-degree grand larceny, third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, two counts of defacing a vehicle identification number, all felonies, officers said.
He was also charged with third-degree auto stripping, deputies said.
The theft of the boat took place on Sweeney Road, officers said.
Luca reportedly stole the boar and attempted to disguise the boat by removing distinguishing parts and removing VIN numbers on the boat and stolen trailer.
Luca was arraigned in Pierrepont court and released on appearance tickets, deputies said.
