POTSDAM — Potsdam Central School is accepting applications for pre-Kindergarten enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year.

There are no income eligibility requirements. Applications can be completed at www.potsdam.k12.ny.us/.

To be eligible for our Pre-Kindergarten program: Child must be 4 years old on or before December 1, 2022; a child must be a resident of the Potsdam Central School District (proof of residency required); and all pertinent documents and the application completed as soon as possible.

Each class operates for approximately 2.5 hours per day. The morning session begins at 8:30 a.m. and dismisses at 11:05 a.m. and the afternoon session begins at 12:30 p.m. and dismisses at 3:05 p.m. Bus transportation is available to and from school each day for all children. The children will have a snack daily and outdoor recess as the weather permits.

The program offers a high-quality early childhood education experience within a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Our focus is on developing the whole child, making learning meaningful for each individual student. Emphasis is placed on socialization and school readiness so that children can enter Kindergarten with the skills they need in order to be successful. We also strive to build strong connections to families by establishing effective two-way communications and incorporating ideas and languages from a child’s home and culture into the school environment.
