POTSDAM -- Canton-Potsdam Hospital celebrated National Certified Nurses Day Saturday, March 19 with a dinner and reception honoring its certified nursing staff.
National Certified Nurses Day recognizes nurses worldwide who contribute to better patient outcomes through national board certification in their specialty. A registered nurse (RN) licensure allows nurses to practice; national certification in a specialty affirms advanced knowledge, skills, and practice. To achieve national certification, nursing professionals must meet certain eligibility requirements, including completion of appropriate education and specialty practice programs, and must pass a rigorous examination.
