A new sports website is serving North Country runners, cyclists, and paddlers.
NoCoRacing is a collection of upcoming races around the North Country area, including St. Lawrence, Jefferson, Franklin counties. It currently provides information on registration, location and contacts for local races. It can be viewed at https://sites.google.com/view/northcountryraces/home.
“After the retirement of northernrunner.org, there was a void in the racing world on how to find information on races nearby. Many of the local races are small and are spread primarily by word of mouth. NoCoRacing is hoping to address that need and provide information on the local racing scene,” said website creator Erica Preston.
“Over the last few weeks I have worked on creating a simple and accessible website to help spread race information to our local community. The great thing about being online is that it is even available to those outside the local community who are looking for races in the North Country.”
Race information can be submitted via email to NoCoRacing2021@gmail.com. Include title, date, time, distance and format (running, cycling, paddling), brief description, registration links/forms, graphics/Images, and contact information for the race.
“Questions and comments can also be sent via email. Right now it's just one person maintaining the site and email, so please give me about two days for turnaround,” said Preston.
