St. Lawrence Health System recently added a new physician, and relocated a physician’s assistant. Patients at Gouverneur Hospital’s DeKalb Junction and Edwards health centers will be seeing a bit of a change-up in providers when they go for their next appointment.
“I am very happy to be joining St. Lawrence Health System,” Dr. McKenney said. “I come from a small town and understand the need and importance of primary care in rural areas. During my time studying and playing hockey at Clarkson University, I developed an appreciation for the people of the North Country, and I am excited to be able to give back to this special and amazing community.”
[img_assist|nid=282447|title=|desc=P.A. Brittani Bickel|link=none|align=right|width=250|height=295]Physician assistant Brittani Bickel started her career with St. Lawrence Health System last summer at the DeKalb Junction Health Center, and has relocated to the Edwards Health Center.
Dr. McKenney has joined SLHS as the new provider at the DeKalb Junction Health Center three days a week, and at Gouverneur Hospital through the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Specialty Suite one day a week.
Bickel previously worked in DeKalb and is looking forward to being back in the community. “I am moving closer to home, and am thrilled to continue working with St. Lawrence Health System,” she said.
She earned her certificate of physician studies at LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY. She completed rotations in general surgery, geriatrics/psychiatry, emergency medicine, family practice/primary care, and women’s health.
