MASSENA — A Massena Central graduate captured the Streetbeefs Flyweight championship earlier this month.
Edward Brown Jr. “Eddie” who fights under the name “Sensation” defeated his most recent opponent via a triangle choke around 90 seconds into the bout.
The win improved his record to 7-2, with two losses coming from larger championship competitors.
Brown has only been training in MMA training for a year and a half.
Training was done at home predominantly due to COVID, said his father, Edward Brown Sr.
The fighter has started training further under Spencer Paige of North Country BJJ as well.
The title match was his return to MMA after 7 months off recovering from an injury.
Brown Jr. is awaiting a contender and hopes to close out 2021 with a title defense.
The 5'10" and 135 pound fighter competes in the Flyweight division.
“He plans to continue to train and get better with hopes of someday fighting at the highest level of competition,” the proud father said of Sensation.
Streetbeefs is a fighting organization originating out of Virginia who upload all of their fights to their Youtube channel. It has nearly 2.5 million subscribers.
