MASSENA — A Massena man was hospitalized after crashing an ATV near 1105 County Route 37
Troopers said they responded to a reported ATVa crash around 11:30 p.m., Thursday and investigation at the scene revealed that 44-year-old Michael J. Markes of Massena was driving east on County Route 37 when he struck a deer that had entered the roadway.
He was reportedly ejected and suffered a head injury.
Markes was transported by Massena Rescue to Massena Memorial Hospital.
He was later air-lifted to SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse in critical but stable condition, officers said.
