OGDENSBURG -- A Massena man was arrested July 19 following a report of a male subject carrying a long gun inside Walmart, 3000 Ford St., according to city police.
Troopers responded to the report at 10:32 p.m. and soon located a male subject inside the store at the service counter where he was in possession of an "assault style rifle" which was revealed to be an Airsoft rifle.
Police said the incident was frightening to people inside the store
Further investigation revealed that Lawrence F. Donnelly, 39, was also found to be in possession of two separate controlled substances.
He was charged with second-degree criminal nuisance, disorderly conduct, and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Ogdensburg police were assisted by state police.
