MASSENA -- The village will have to pay a 6.1% hike on their police and fire retirement system bill, and less than 1% more for their employee retirement contribution.
Treasurer Kevin Felt announced the numbers at the Tuesday, Oct. 20 Village Board of Trustees meeting.
He said the employee retirement system bill will be $460,580, which is 0.6% more than last year.
For police and fire, they will pay $425,663, a 6.1% increase from last year.
Felt told the board that the numbers are based on rates released last month for the retirement system and salaries for April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020, “a variable rate that is subject to change.”
