MASSENA — On Jan. 20 the Massena Fire Department reported to a structure fire on Lawrence St. in the village of Massena.
Officials say fire crews arrived minutes after receiving the call to find smoke coming from the rear of the house.
Crews extinguished the fire and took steps to ensure the fire was out and could not spread, officials say.
Firemen operated on site for nearly two hours with Engine 31, Tower 3 and Rescue 77 before returning to service, officials say.
“A special thank you to our Village DPW for clearing out a fire hydrant buried in a snow bank near the fire scene while we operated,” officials said on Facebook.
