MADRID — Madrid-Waddington Central School students recently participated in a mock driving while intoxicated crash.
More than 40 community members from the Madrid and Waddington rescue squads and fire departments, the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, St. Lawrence County coroner’s office, and the St. Lawrence County Stop DWI Program helped to educate juniors and seniors about the dangers of driving while impaired.
“The incredible number of volunteers this morning is a testament to the dedication of our community members when it pertains to the safety and education of our students,” school officials said “Those members of these organizations, please join us in thanking them for the time they took to work with our students today. The time it took to organize and execute this demonstration is very much appreciated.”
