POTSDAM — Local artist Sara Lynch recently completed a mural for Potsdam’s AAK Middle school seventh grade science classroom.
Design suggestions were pulled from emails Sara received from community members near and far, drawings made by students, and feedback on social media. She combined them into a design that depicts the life cycle of a monarch with diagrams showing the parts of a flower and plant and animal cells personified. Public input was enthusiastic and much appreciated. You can learn more about it on her website https://www.saraelynch.com/blogroll/publicart2021.
Moving forward Sara is now seeking design suggestions for a mural at Potsdam’s Postwood Park. The proposed location is the side of the building that houses the bathrooms. General themes of native wildlife, watershed preservation, and community are suggested but all will be considered. Mural ideas can be emailed to saraelynch@gmail.com while drawings can be mailed to
