POTSDAM — NCPR music host and production manager Doyle Dean will present a special live broadcast of his show, The Dean’s List, Monday, April 24, from 3-5 p.m. at SUNY Potsdam’s Gibson Gallery.
The public is encouraged to attend and hear The Dean’s List’s signature mix of what’s new and great in indie rock. Crane Professor Jerod Sommerfeldt will create additional live electronic music during the show. The radio station will offer special prize giveaways as well.
The broadcast comes in advance of the University’s LoKo Arts Festival, which officially kicks off on Friday, April 28th. The Gibson Gallery’s current show, BIG INK PRINTS, features 26 large-scale woodblock prints from previous workshops. BIG INK will offer a special two-day woodblock print workshop during the festival. Work by Dean will be printed during that weekend’s exhibition, April 28th and 29th.
“I’m super excited for this event! It’s the first ever live remote broadcast of The Dean’s List, and we’ll be surrounded by fantastic large format prints at the gallery,” said Dean. “Plus, I get to collaborate with Jerod Sommerfeldt who will be creating live improvised electronic music on site. It’ll be really cool to say hello to the Dean’s List-eners in attendance.”
Dean has been with the station since 2018, when he was hired as production manager to create high quality video content for the station. He formerly taught video and audio production at SUNY Potsdam.
Fans who can’t make it in person can tune in to the show at the same time they listen every Monday from 3 to 5 p.m., or catch a rewind of the show on the NCPR website.
