GOUVERNEUR  – Delegates from the Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties Central Trades and Labor Council voted unanimously to endorse Judge Michelle Holmes Ladouceur in the Conservative Party Primary for St. Lawrence County Surrogate’s Court Judge.

The group issued the following statement of support:

“Judge Ladouceur was recently appointed by Governor Kathy Hochul to fill the Surrogate’s Court Judge seat that was vacated by Judge John Richey earlier this year. Her confirmation vote in the New York State Senate was also unanimous.

“Judge Ladouceur has more than twenty-two years of experience in working with the highly complex dealings of Surrogate’s Court. For the past seven years, she has served as the Principal Court Attorney for Judge Richey. Her opponent has never presented a case in Surrogate’s Court. Ever.

“Labor Council President Ron McDougall explained the practical application of Judge Ladouceur’s experience, “When you lose a loved one, legal matters including wills, trusts and estates are settled in Surrogate’s Court. At a time when families are suffering the most, they need assurance that the Judge overseeing their legal matters is experienced and understands the nuances necessary to avoid delays and missteps. Judge Michelle Ladouceur has that kind of experience. Her opponent does not.”

“Judge Ladouceur is the only candidate in the St. Lawrence County Conservative Party Primary who is authorized by and who has been endorsed by the St. Lawrence County Conservative Party. Party Chairman, Henry “Hank” Ford offered a formidable assessment of her qualifications, “she has an impeccable record, and she is an impeccable person “.

“As a former member of CSEA, she understands the importance of Unions and the value of their role in helping to elevate the status of the middle class. Judge Ladouceur was a graduate of Madrid-Waddington Central School, SUNY Potsdam and was the valedictorian of her Albany Law School graduating class.

“Our Delegates encourage Conservative Party voters to cast their ballots for Judge Michelle Ladouceur in the race for St. Lawrence County Surrogate’s Court Judge when they go to the polls on Tuesday, June 28. Polls will be open countywide from 6:00AM to 9:00PM. Information on polling locations can be found through the New York State Board of Elections at https://voterlookup.elections.ny.gov/”
