POTSDAM — A husband and wife are running dual businesses at 8505 U.S. Highway 11.

Tim Dillon opened Dillon’s Motorsports last year, and Lori Dillon is now running The Artisan Market on the same land.

Mrs. Dillon describes her business as a gift shop that showcases local artisans.

Her shop currently has 14 vendors with space for more. A wide variety of items can be found for sale including jewelry, wreaths, decorative solar lights, essential oil products, key chains and more.

“I 100 percent believe in supporting the local community and small businesses,” she said.

The couple previously owned Chilly Delight in Potsdam, and Mr. Dillon has sold antiques and furniture as well.

An open house at The Artisan Market will be held Sept. 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. and a ladies night will be held Sept. 30, from 4 to p.m.

There are plans for some of her vendors to host workshops at the store as well.

Dillon is also offering a basket raffle for any shopper who comes into the store.

The shop owner said she was looking for something to keep her busy following retirement. After tossing ideas around with her husband, the pair decided to open the gift shop next to Dillon’s Motorsports.

Those who enjoy ATVs and motorcycles can stop in to check out their selection of parts, apparel, helmets, gloves and more.

Mr. Dillon opened his store last year following the purchase of inventory from Moody River Custom Cycles after the owner passed away.

Much of that purchase included spare parts. A 50% sale on parts will take place next month.

The business is also set up with multiple part vendors and can special order parts for machines for those in need.

This month is a 30% sale on weather-related items.

Mrs. Dillon said her husband is always looking to expand his inventory of machines, often having some motorcycles or dirt bikes for sale.

The plan is to stock up on machines this winter and have them for sale for the spring riding season.

The Artisan Market is open from 1- to 5 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Some holiday hours may be added soon.
