WADDINGTON — The Hepburn Library of Waddington, 30 Main St., has received a $1500 grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation this year.

“We are very appreciative and this will be able to help fund our program that we are planning to extend this year. There were 15 organizations selected in the State of New York, and we were one of them! A huge thank you to the Dollar General Literacy Foundation for allowing us to serve our community even better this year,” said Bonnie Sabatini, library director.

The Waddington Reading & Rec program will run from July 5-Aug. 12.

Swimming Lessons will also be offered again this summer at the beach.

Registration will be available soon.

The library also plans to post eight StoryWalks® along the St. Lawrence River-Walk for anyone to enjoy.

The library received a $500 grant from the North Country Library System to help fund this for the summer, Sabatini said.

StoryWalks® promote movement & learning. Let’s Move in Libraries is an international initiative to get people of all ages and abilities on the path to health.

“Our first StoryWalk® will be posted and available for use on June 27th. There will be a new StoryWalk® available every week through August 12th,” Sabatini said.
