MADRID - A Hammond man has been accused of stealing tire rims valued at more than $1,000, report New York State police.
On June 17, troopers charged Franklin J. Preston, 42, with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance , and criminal substance in non-original container.
Around 9:19 a.m, troopers responded to State Highway 310 in the Town of Madrid for a larceny complaint. An investigation determined Preston stole multiple tire rims valued at $1,275. While interviewing Preston regarding the stolen merchandise, he was found in possession of drug paraphernalia, identified as methamphetamine, according to police.
He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Massena Court for a later date in July.
