CANTON -- Skeletons have come back to life to dance, play golf, push a baby stroller and enjoy a bath, among other activities, at a large display in Canton.
Creators Diane Letourneau and Bob Ahlfeld are entertaining the community with their Halloween scene at 45 State Street.
“The graveyard theme this year is ‘What you enjoyed most in life.’ The skeletons were granted one- day to come back to life and do what they enjoyed most before they departed,” said Letourneau.
“The mobster and his gal loved dancing the night away, the next-door neighbors enjoyed a competitive round of golf, and the cowboy loved playing his guitar and singing the melancholy tunes of yesteryear,” she said.
“The young chap loved taking his devoted dog for walks, while the Victorian lady enjoyed taking her new baby for long strolls in the park. The inseparable sinister sisters enjoyed the teeter-totter the most, and lastly, the housewife enjoyed her quiet time in the tub amongst the bubbles,” she said.
In addition to the skeletons adorning the front and side lawn, there are witches and monsters.
Letourneau said she has been making homemade decorations for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and July 4th for over 30 years, continued her hobby after moving to Canton several years ago.
“We have had so many visitors stop by the graveyard. It is great to see everyone so excited about our Halloween display,” said Letourneau.
