GOUVERNEUR — A Gouverneur inmate was indicted on second-degree murder after allegedly killing another person this summer.
St. Lawrence County District Attorney Gary Pasqua announced today that the St. Lawrence County Grand Jury filed a sealed indictment with St. Lawrence County Court against Wilfredo Noe, 47.
Noe is an inmate with the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
The indictment charges Noe with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, first-degree assault, first-degree strangulation and second-degree assault related to the death, a release from the SLC district attorney’s office said
Luigi Cappellino, 26, was reportedly killed June 5 at the Gouverneur Correctional Facility.
Noe was reportedly arraigned following the unsealing of the indictment Oct. 31 in St. Lawrence County Court.
He was remanded without bail, the press release said.
The incident was investigated by New York State Police, the New York State Attorney General's Office and the St. Lawrence County District Attorney's Office.
