FOWLER -- A Fowler woman died as a result of injuries sustained during a motor vehicle accident Thursday morning on State Route 58, according to state police.
Police said they responded to a reported accident around 10:30 a.m. and investigation revealed that a 2014 Jeep Compass being operated by 66-year old Debra A. Day was traveling east on SH 58 when her vehicle went off the south shoulder and struck a rock wall head-on.
The vehicle reportedly rolled and eventually landed back onto all four wheels in the southbound lane of traffic.
Day was transported by LifeNet to SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where she succumbed to her injuries, officers said.
An autopsy is pending and the investigation is ongoing.
