Financial assistance available to struggling St. Lawrence County residents

Assistance is available for St. Lawrence County residents who are struggling due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

St. Lawrence County Community Development Program received funding through the CARES Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act) to assist income-qualified individuals.

Help is available for educational expenses, vocational expenses, rent, mortgage, utility payments, vehicle repairs, employment supplies and expenses, and school supplies. To qualify for assistance with this funding, an individual must have been impacted by Covid-19.

This could mean a loss in employment, reduced hours, or an increase in expenses as children have been home from school, etc.

Income qualifications are 200% of the federal poverty level. For a family of four, that would be $54,400 or less per year to qualify.

To apply for assistance, contact your closest CDP Neighborhood Center. Locations are in Canton (315-386-3541), Massena (315-764-0050), Potsdam (315-265-3920), Gouverneur (315-287-3370), Ogdensburg (315-713-8036), and Colton/Pierrepont/Parishville (315-244-0069). The Neighborhood Centers are currently by appointment only.
