CANTON – The Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) Program will be available July 1 to St. Lawrence County residents. GardenShare partners with Field & Fork Network, a food and farming non-profit organization based in Western New York, to bring this program to our community.
Double Up Food Bucks is an incentive program that provides individuals and families who use SNAP benefits with a $2-for-$2 match, up to $20 per day, providing shoppers with additional dollars to bring home more fruits and vegetables. This program can be used at the following St. Lawrence County farmers markets: Canton, Gouverneur, Hammond, Massena, and Potsdam.
“DUFB helps increase affordability and access to fresh produce for low-income consumers,” GardenShare said. “It helps direct dollars to farmers who sell at farmers markets, ultimately strengthening our local food and agriculture economy.”Double Up Food Bucks at participating St. Lawrence County farmers markets are operated by GardenShare, a Canton-based nonprofit that promotes a local food system that ensures food security for all St. Lawrence County residents.
