COVID claims three more in St. Lawrence County, 169 new cases since Friday

Three more people have died over the weekend due to COVID-19, according to St. Lawrence County public health officials. New cases climbed 169 over the weekend.

COVID by the numbers in St. Lawrence County:

Total number of confirmed positives to-date: 10,061

Active cases: 562

Released from isolation: 9,348

Hospitalizations: 22

Deaths: 115

Total number of tests performed to date: 386,848

% of Fully vaccinated in St. Lawrence County: 52.4

% of St. Lawrence County positivity rate: 6.9

The St. Lawrence County Public Health Department is currently holding COVID-19 Vaccination clinics every Monday and Wednesday at 80 St. Hwy 310, Suite 2, Canton. To make an appointment, call 315-229-3452.

Vaccinations are available at local pharmacies.

If you or someone you know is homebound and is interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, call Public Health at 315-386-2325.

Testing is being done at the locations listed below. Some urgent cares and provider offices are also performing testing. Testing is by appointment only.

Call the hotline numbers below between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. if you have symptoms or feel you should be tested:

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center and Health Services reported 13 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend in Akwesasne’s southern portion.

Three more individuals have recovered.

There are 26 total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction.

Ninety-four individuals are in quarantine.

COVID cases declined significantly at St. Lawrence, SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam, with Clarkson seeing another slight decline in overall cases.

St. Lawrence University has 16 active cases among students and no active employee cases.

No students are in mandatory campus quarantine.

There have been 231 confirmed cases since Aug. 11.

Two-hundred and fourteen have recovered.

To date, 9,591 tests have been conducted since Aug. 11, with no tests pending results.

All St. Lawrence University students are vaccinated.

SUNY Canton reports two active student cases in the previous 14 days.

One employee has tested positive.

In total, 1609 tests have been conducted with 1604 negative in the previous 14 days.

Positivity rate is 0.3%.

Two students are isolated on-campus.

SUNY Potsdam reports two active cases of students on campus and 3 active cases off campus for a total of 5.

There are no active cases among employees.

The 14 day positivity rate is 0.95%.

Clarkson University reports one active student case on their Potsdam campus.

There are currently eight active staff cases.

Four students and three staff have recovered.
