Canton wants to share ideas for Willow Island

CANTON – The Village of Canton is encouraging residents to attend an open house to learn about ideas developed for the enhancement of Willow Island.

Whitham Planning Design & Landscape Architecture, consultants to the Village of Canton for the Willow Island Park project, will be in Canton on Thursday, March 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. to present, and take public input on conceptual designs they have prepared for enhancement of this beautiful downtown park. The public is invited to drop in anytime during these hours.

This session will allow residents to view design ideas conceptualized for enhancement of the Willow Island space.

Feedback gathered at this meeting will guide the consultants toward a preferred design, and allow them to proceed with final design in preparation for implementation.

The public information session will be held in the downstairs courtroom of the Canton Municipal Building, located at 60 Main Street, Canton. An announcement is also available on the municipal website at www.cantonny.gov, and events have been created on the municipal website and municipal Facebook page.

For further details, please contact Leigh Rodriguez, Director of Economic Development, at (315) 386-2871 #5 or lrodriguez@cantonny.gov.

This event is being held with funding provided by the New York State Department of State under Title 11 of the Environmental Protection Fund.
