CANTON – The village board approved several employment requests at the monthly meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 16.
Ciara McDougal was hired as a full-time recreation laborer at a wage of $17 per hour, replacing Nolan Bombard who resigned from the position.
Recreation attendants are Elena Abplanalp, Ashlyn Beeles, Myra Bullock, Reid Doyle, Carter Lesperence, Claire Polniak, and Shaylee Olmstead at a wage of $14.20 per hour; and Brandon O’Shea (second year) at a wage of $14.45 per hour.
Recreation Director Meghan Richardson, in her report to the board, said both the new part-time and full-time laborers are trained and working their respective shifts.
She also reported that eight security cameras have been installed inside the Canton Pavilion, all of the parks have been closed down and exterior equipment has been secured for the winter season, and community volunteers have completed the work on the outdoor sports court in anticipation of using the space for an outdoor rink later this winter.
