BRIER HILL -- The Brier Hill Fire Department took first place in the Gouverneur and St. Lawrence County Fair Parade for Marching on Wednesday, Aug. 3.
Coming in second was the Hammond Fire and Rescue Department. Morristown Fire Department would have placed, but they were disqualified for sounding a siren on one of their units.
Marching for the Brier Hill Fire Department were:
Chief: Shawn Macaulay
2nd Asst. Chief: Bill VanVleet
Fire Fighter: Ben VanDamme
Fire Fighter: Bobbi Jo Hoffman
Fire Fighter: Donni Aldrich
Fire Fighter: Dave Forjone
Fire Fighter: Wayne MoQuin
Fire Fighter: Garnet Rodgers
Fire Fighter: David Witherhead
Fire Fighter: Gary Lalonde
The Brier Hill Fire Department serves in both fire and EMS service, and are building a new fire department building.
The department has seven active Emergency Medical Technicians: Shawn Macaulay, Josh Hunter, Bill VanVleet, Donni Aldrich, Jill Aldrich, Tammy Mace, Jim Lowery. The Brier Hill Fire Department is sending three members, Amanda Chase, Charles Willard, and Ben VanDamme, to SUNY Canton for EMT class this month.
