NORWOOD — BOCES will again offer summer school to students across St. Lawrence County.

The program is open to all local students, however if their home school is offering summer school, students will not be eligible for the BOCE Regional Summer School Program.

BOCES summer school program runs Monday through Thursday from July 5 through Aug. 15 at Brasher Falls, Gouverneur and Ogdensburg schools.

A driver’s education course will be offered in Ogdensburg only.

Massena and Potsdam schools are the only local districts planning to offer their own summer school programs, according to BOCES Spokesperson Jessica Berkman.

Transportation will not be provided by the St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES, Berkman. “Students should contact their districts concerning transportation.”

Classes run during period 1 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., and period 2 from 9:35 until 11:35 a.m.

There is no registration or tuition charge for students from districts participating in the BOCES summer school programs.

Some important dates include homeschool pre-registration by June 29, no classes on Independence Day, July 4, classes begin July 5, the end of marking period one is July 23, the last day of class is Aug. 15 and Regents exams will take place Aug. 16-17.
