Another person dies from COVID-19 in St. Lawrence County, 141 new cases reported over the weekend

Another person has died from COVID-19 in St. Lawrence County, according to St. Lawrence County Public Health.

Officials say the number of deaths here is now 99.

The St. Lawrence County Health Department also reported 141 new COVID cases over the weekend.

Total number of confirmed cases has risen to 8,503, with 336 active cases.

8,068 individuals have been released from isolation since the start of the pandemic, according to health officials.

Current hospitalizations have dropped to 17, down from 20 on Friday.

Officials say 361,736 tests have been performed to date.

The total number of full vaccinated residents is 51.2%, a 0.3% rise since Friday.

The positivity rate also dropped again, standing at 4.1% now. That is a drop of 0.44% from last week.

The vaccine also continues to be available under emergency use authorization (EUA), including for individuals 12 to 15 years of age and for the administration of a third dose in certain immunocompromised individuals.

St. Lawrence County Public Health strongly urges and recommends that all persons wear a mask indoors in public spaces, in accordance with recent CDC guidance.

Public Health is holding COVID-19 vaccination clinics every Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 80 St. Hwy 310, Suite 2, Canton. To make an appointment, call (315) 229-3452 or click the links below.

A number of COVID-19 back-to-school Pfizer vaccination clinics have been scheduled for anyone age 12 and older. Registration is encouraged but not required. Walk-ins are accepted.
