St. Lawrence County teams placed first, second, third and fourth at the Northern New York Bassmasters Team Trail 2016 season opening tournament on Lake Champlain June 11.
The top four money placing teams were:
• 1st - Steve Garrabrant & Tim O'Grady (Ogdensburg) with 18.00 lbs
• 2nd - Ashley Travers & Micheal Emlaw (Brasher Falls) with 17.07 lbs
• 3rd - Tyler Capella & Jessie Spellicy (Canton & Gouvernuer) with 16.65 lbs
• 4th - Brad Paradis & Robert Paradis (Ogdensburg) with 16.43 lbs
Lunker of the day was a 4.76 lb bass caught by the 3rd place team Capella & Spellicy
High winds and rain slowed anglers’ travels but a few teams managed to find big smallmouth and largemouth to push them to the top of the 26 team field.
The next tournament for the NNY Bassmasters Team Trail is on the St. Lawrence River June 25 from the Patterson Street Launch in Ogdensburg. Weigh in is 3 p.m.
