POTSDAM — All 85 COVID-19 retests of SUNY Potsdam students have come back negative, according to SUNY Potsdam officials. The students needed to be retested due to invalid samples.
The college has performed 2,131 on students with two coming back positive. Both of those cases have since been cleared by the department of health. There are 5 pending COVID-19 tests for students. The pending tests are for students who have come in with possible
symptom.
SUNY Potsdam says it tested 45 employees, two are pending and one was positive. That person is in isolation, officials said.
“Next week, we will begin surveillance testing by testing all residential and local
students living within 15 miles of campus, using the new pooled saliva testing
offered by Upstate Medical University in Syracuse,” according to SUNY Potsdam Director of Public Relation Alex Jacobs Wilke. “We will also offer a free flu shot clinic at the same time.”
