MASSENA — Village officials say the “Rockin’ the River: Beachapalooza!” event is shaping up nicely after securing an Aerosmith tribute band for the event.

Draw the Line is set to hit the stage on Aug. 19, according to Jason Hendricks of H3 Designs.

Hendricks is the digital brand manager for both the town and village of Massena and has been hard at work getting the event setup.

The search for a band to play at the event included many bands but Draw the Line stood out to organizers.

“They are the only tribute band endorsed by Aerosmith. They’ll be coming here to Massena on Saturday Aug. 19th at the Massena Town Beach,” Hendricks said.

More information about the specifics of the event will be coming in the near future, Hendricks told trustees.

“So, we’re excited the ball’s rolling. Life comes at you fast and everything’s right on pace right now. Now it’s going to be getting the sponsors and moving forward with that,” Hendricks said.

Vendors have begun to sign on to the event as well, Hendricks said.

Various sponsorship levels are also available for area businesses interested in advertising at the event.

Local food and beer vendors are expected to take part in the event as well, officials say.

“Rockin’ the River” isn’t a new concept for the village however, as officials held an event last summer at the Wilson Hill causeway. The event featured a kids fishing derby, food trucks, vendors, music and fireworks.

All events were free to the public last year.

Hendricks had previously said the cost of this year’s event will be anywhere from $9,000 to $16,500, depending on the cost of musical acts, fireworks and marketing. Hendricks said he thinks the event could be covered largely through local business sponsorships, vendor charges and a small amount of donations.
