The official opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway navigation season for 2012 will take place Thursday, March 22 at 10:30 a.m.
The Top Hat Opening Ceremony will take place at the Welland Canal in St. Catharines, Ont.
The season opening event annually brings together many of the key players and stakeholders on both sides of the border.
Keynote speakers will be Rob Bryson, Director of Eastern Canadian Grain Operations for Parrish and Heimbecker, Limited, and Donald Gallienne, Director of Finished Product Transportation Logistics for Aluminerie Alouette.
St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation President and CEO, Terence Bowles, and U.S. Seaway Administrator Collister Johnson, Jr. will also make presentations.
