CANTON – St. Lawrence County sheriff's detectives have charged a 16-year-old male youthful offender in connection of burglaries at Heuvelton Central School on Aug. 22 and Oct. 22, and Doug’s Tavern and the Heuvelton post office on Oct. 22.
Due to the age of the alleged offender, police will not release his name.
The teenager has been charged with two felony counts of third-degree burglary, one felony count of first-degree criminal tampering, one felony count second-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny, both misdemeanors as a result of a coordinated investigation between the sheriff's office and the New York state police.
The offender was arraigned in St. Lawrence County Court and released under supervision of probation.
